A
settlement was reached in the Ontario EEG-Hepatitis B
class action lawsuit in late 2001. The Court approved the
settlement on February 4, 2002. Settlement funds have now
been distributed pursuant Court order by the Court appointed
administrator LECG
The settlement with Toronto
neurologist Dr. Ronald H. Wilson, who denies any wrongdoing,
paid $27.5 million in damages for the approximately
14,000 people affected by the operation of several EEG
clinics in Toronto’s east end.
Under the settlement patients received a range of financial
benefits depending upon individual circumstances.
